- New York State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation. This is the State agency which manages the New York State Parks including, in the southern NY region, Harriman/Bear Mountain, Sterling Forest, Schunemunk Mountain, Storm King Moutain, Minnewaska, Clarence Fahnstock, Hudson Highlands State Parks. and many other smaller parks and historic sites. These are not the same as the NYS DEC Forest Preserve lands in the Adirondack and Catskill Parks and State Forests, Wildlife Management Areas.
