Directions to trailhead
From I-95 take exit 1 for NJ-29 North/River Road. Proceed for 7 miles then turn right onto Valley Road. Take the second left onto Goat Hill Road. In 1.4 miles turn left onto George Washington Road. In .2 mile when the road forks, veer left on the gravel road to parking on left.
From the Ted Stiles Preserve at Baldpate Mountain Hike :
Turn left onto Church Rd, proceed for 1.1 miles then turn right onto NJ-29 N/River Rd. Proceed for 3.3 miles then turn right onto Valley Road. Take the second left onto Goat Hill Road. In 1.4 miles turn left onto George Washington Road. In .2 mile when the road forks, veer left on the gravel road to parking on left.
From the Washington Crossing State Park Hike :
From the parking lot turn left onto River Dr. Take the 1st left onto Washington Crossing-Pennington Road then immediately turn left onto NJ-29 N/River Road. Proceed for 4.4 miles then turn right onto Valley Road. Take the second left onto Goat Hill Road. In 1.4 miles turn left onto George Washington Road. In .2 mile when the road forks, veer left on the gravel road to parking on left.
Hike Description
Located on a separate parcel of Washington Crossing State Park, this short .45 mile trail to the main attraction, Goat Hill Overlook, makes a great side trip in conjunction with a hike either at Washington Crossing State Park orTed Stiles Preserve at Baldpate Mountain as it only requires a short drive to access.
From the parking lot, continue on the gravel road beyond the metal gates. The trail will wind up the hill on a gradual incline, passing unmarked trails to the left the at .2 and .3 mile marks. In just under half a mile arrive at the top as the trail veers to the left where you will find great views of the Delaware River with Lambertville, NJ on the right side and New Hope, PA just across the river. Retrace your steps back to your car.
