| Assistant Webmaster | Work with the Webmaster to keep our site up and running smoothly, troubleshooting, installing upgrades and the like. |
| ATV Campaign Assistant | ATV Campaign Assistant to NJ Regional Representative |
| Book Author | The Trail Conference publishes books about local hiking. The books need to be accurate and entertaining. Writing a book is a major time commitment. You will need to hike all of the trails in the book, some multiple times. While hiking, you may also be taking pictures, measuring lengths and GPSing them as well as taking notes. We provide trail checkers, a project manager, an editor, book layout and design, and cartography to help you produce a quality book. |
| Cartographer Assistant | We need volunteers with experience using Adobe Illustrator to assist in the production of our new digital maps, as well as sketch maps for our guidebooks. Knowledge of ArcMap also useful. |

This volunteer position offers in-office assistance with orders processing. |
| Communications / Editorial Assistant | Assist the communications manager with various tasks relating to both printed and electronic communications. |

| Conservation Coordinator |
Help sustain the vitality of one of the metropolitan area's largest membership and volunteer outdoor organizations by assisting in its mission of conserving trail lands in our region. With a membership of 10,000 individuals and 100 organizations, the Trail Conference has a combined membership of over 100,000 active, outdoor-loving people. The Conservation and Advocacy Committee of the Trail Conference oversees the safeguarding of trails from encroaching development and ensures that trail linkages are maintained and expanded. We do this through landowner outreach, monitoring of property ownership, and monitoring of real estate development in the vicinity of trails. |

The Trail Conference produces a wide variety material both in print and on the web. We work with several contractors and are often hired by other organizations to perform these services. The Trail Conference is looking for a lawyer who can provide pro bono services to help write and review contracts and advise the organization on some best practises to protect itself. |

Assist with performing a user-requirements assessment for new constituent relationship database. |
| Executive Assistant | The Trail Conference Executive Director needs someone to help manage his many projects. If you have good organizational and clerical skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office software, and the ability to come into the office on a regular basis, this may be the volunteer position for you. |

| General Counsel |
The Trail Conference receives and creates a wide variety of contracts ranging from hiring contractors and service providers to work-for-hire and trail building proposals. The Trail Conference is looking for a lawyer who can provide pro bono services to help write and review these contracts and advise the organization on some best practises to protect itself. |
| Grant Manager | A Grant Manager is generally responsible for insuring that the terms of grant agreements are adhered to, reconciling invoices with grant budgets, attending meetings with granting agencies and architects, preparing reports and various paperwork associated with the grants, etc. |
| Graphic Designer | We offer a number of free trail brochures to the public but many need to be updated and redesigned. Our Publications Committee is seeking a volunteer with a graphic design background who is familiar with design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Pagemaker or Quark. Don't wait! Assist architects and staff in planning the interior layout and furnishings of the Trail Conference’s future headquarters in the historic Darlington Schoolhouse. |

Work with Executive Director and native plant consultant to prepare a planting plan for the Darlington Schoolhouse property. |
| Member Relations |
With a membership of 10,000 individuals and 100 organizations, the Trail Conference has a combined membership of over 100,000 active, outdoor-loving people. Help sustain the vitality of one of the metropolitan area's largest membership and volunteer outdoor organizations by engaging with its membership in its mission of providing access to open space in our region. |
| Office Assistant | Extra hands are needed at our Mahwah office to help with mailings, data entry, filing, creation of information packets and a wide variety of other projects. Requirements: 2 - 3 hours or more per week of your time and a desire to help the Trail Conference behind the scenes. Training will be provided as required. |
| Outreach Representative | Represent Trail Conference at outreach events, by answering questions, distributing brochures and encouraging sign-ups from the public at an event's informational table. |

Assist the Trail Conference's Program Coordinator in reaching out to and coordinating trail volunteers. |
| Prospect Caller | Offer by phone, a free mailing of our new full-color catalogue to selected stores. |
| Publications Project Manager |
Help the Trail Conference produce a book, map or other publication! We are looking for volunteers to come and take charge of a publication project. Experience in project management is required. |
| Trail Inventory Monitor |
Inventory sections of approximately 100 miles of trail in four northern NJ state parks. |

| Trailworker Editor |
Use your writing and investigative skills to supply copy and ferret out other writers to produce articles about trail maintenance, tools, interesting projects, and problems solved. The Trailworker is the newsletter for maintainers, supervisors, trails chair, crew chiefs, crew leaders, and crew members. |
