Park Description:

Situated in the Catskills, Belleayre Mountain was declared “Forever Wild” by the New York State Forest Preserve in 1885.  Today with 55 trails, parks and glades and 8 lifts, including a new High Speed Quad, it is more a winter resort than wilderness area.  It is owned an operated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Trails Overview:

Belleayre Mountain cross-country trails are separated from the downhill slopes and have no trail use fee. These five trails range from 0.7 to 1.5 miles, totaling 7.3 miles.

Total acres given over to all forms of skiing is 171.   

Summer day hiking is permitted with trails rated from beginner to more advanced (see trail map)

Driving from points north or south - NYS Thruway (I-87) to Exit 19 - Kingston, NY - then Rt. 28, 37 miles West to Highmount. Belleayre will be on your left at the top of the hill after passing the Village of Pine Hill.

Public transportation is available. Under “Contact Information” below, follow the links to “Resort Info/Directions” for more details about the Adirondack Trailways Ski Bus which, seasonally, leaves daily from the Port Authority Terminal (NYC)
