There is only speculation about how Double Trouble State Park was named. But it is not just an intriguing name that should draw visitors.

Park Description:

Located a few miles south of Toms River, Double Trouble State Park is a captivating blend of natural and cultural history. Productive cranberry bogs and a restored village are on what once was a thriving nineteenth century lumbering operation. The restored village contains 14 historic structures, including a sawmill, pickers’ cottages, a cranberry sorting and packing house, a general store, and a one-room schoolhouse built in 1890.

There are over five miles of "official" trails on the trail map.

None of these trails are blazed or named other than on the map. In addition there are many miles of unmarked sand roads.
