| Park Description: | In 2000 Montrose Point State Forest was purchased by Trust for Public Land and turned over to NY State Department of Environmental Conservation. Unlike other state forests, no camping or hunting is permitted. An easement across adjacent property allows access to Montrose Point Road and hence to George's Island County Park. |
| Trails Overview: | The trails go through the woods to intersting destinations. The heavy invasives along the path are indicative of disturbed soils. |
| Directions: | From Route 9, take Route 9A/Montrose Exit and head north. Just past Roosevelt Veterans Hospital to the left, turn left onto Dutch Street. Go 0.6 mile to Sunset Road, turn right, and continue 0.9 mile to end at Kings Ferry Road. Turn left. Parking is 100 feet to the left. |
