Directions
Follow the same directions for Caumsett State Park and continue on West Neck Road a little over two miles farther until the road curves left to become Sound Bay Drive. The refuge entrance will be on the right side. GPS Coordinates: 40.92698, -73.437882
Park Overview
This 80-acre preserve consists of a variety of habitats, and as many as 191 different bird species have been spotted throughout the year.
Trail Overview
The walk takes you down to a fine pebbly beach overlooking Huntington Bay. Eatons Neck with its lighthouse on the Sound lies directly across the bay.
Park Description
The refuge is comprised of upland forest, salt marsh, second growth thicket, beachfront and some formal gardens. This diversity lends itself to many different species of bird life within the park including grey catbirds, warblers and mergansers (Hiking Long Island guidebook).
