Park Description
Known locally as the Richard Mine, Mount Hope Historical Park was once a booming iron mining and processing site. Mining at this site had begun as early as 1710 and did not end until 1958 - and not until 1978 in the larger Rockaway Township area. The Park is part of the original Mount Hope Tract with more than 20 mining locations.
