Park Description:

Situated in the rolling hills of Hunterdon County, Voorhees State Park was the home of Foster M. Voorhees, a former governor of New Jersey.  He donated his farm to become a state park in 1929, and during the 1930s the Civilian Conservation Corps [CCC] developed the Park's picnic sites, parking areas, roads, and trails.  It has year-round camping facilities and an observatory for night sky watching.
Trails Overview:

Voorhees has seven trails that meander along varying terrain through a mixed hardwood forest.  All trails in the park are multi-use except the Cross Park Trail and the exercise Parcourse Circuit, which are footpaths only. The trails range from wide and graveled to rocky and steep in places; the parcourse is accessible for people with disabilities.

Two overlooks provide scenic views of Round Valley Reservoir and Spruce Run Reservoir.
Directions:

Take I-78 West to Exit 17 [Clinton], go north on NJ 31 for 1.9 miles, then turn right on County 513, and proceed for 1.2 miles to High Bridge.  Follow the signs to the park by continuing north on County 513 for another two miles to the park entrance on the left.
