Bear Mountain Trail Crew - Trail Building

Registration is closed for this event
The Bear Mountain Trail Crew is working on the award-winning relocation and restoration effort of the Appalachian Trail in Bear Mountain State Park.

If you enjoy working outdoors and have a thirst for knowledge, the Bear Mountain Trail Crew would love to meet you.

This project involves building 5-foot-wide stone stairs all the way up to the top of Bear Mountain—but don't be intimidated by the scale of this project!  Over the last 10 years, people of all ages and walks of life have worked together on this crew building over 1,000 stone stairs.

The crew works five days a week, Thursday through Monday, June through October, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. The Bear Mountain Trail Crew are eager to meet you out on the trail. We'll teach you everything you need to know to have a fun, safe day building a trail.

Work trips are led by Trail Conference's on-staff field managers and Conservation Corps members.
