Draft Master Plan for Fahnestock, Hudson Highlands State Parks Now Available

New York State Parks has completed a Draft Master Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Clarence Fahnestock Memorial and Hudson Highlands State Parks, located in the Towns of Carmel, Kent, Philipstown, Putnam Valley, Fishkill, and Cortlandt, the Villages of Cold Spring and Nelsonville, and the City of Beacon within Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester Counties.

Copies of the Draft Plan/DEIS are available for review at the Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park Office, at the offices of the agency contacts and at the Butterfield Memorial Library, 10 Morris Ave. Cold Spring, NY, the Howland Public Library, 313 Main Street, Beacon, NY and at the Kent Public Library, 17 Sybil's Crossing, Kent Lakes, NY. The online version of the Draft Plan/ DEIS is available at the following publically accessible web site:

Appendix B of the Plan is the Draft Trails Plan. 

A public hearing will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 7:00PM at Hubbard Lodge, 2880 Route 9, Cold Spring, NY. I hope that your schedule will allow your participation at the hearing. If not, please provide us with your written comments by November 5, 2010.
