The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, which is made up of over 10,000 individual members and 100 club members, volunteer their time to help maintain an abundance of trails across the area including High Mountain. They protect 1,700 miles of trails and shelters as well as create maps, books, and Web publications to guide the public around the region's trails.
