Your vote could help Van Cortlandt Park

Body

Friends of Van Cortlandt Park could soon receive a major grant to help fund their trail restoration project.

But to get it, they'll need your vote - in cyberspace.

The organization is asking supporters to log on to tomsofmaine.com and cast votes for the grant proposal, which is competing with other projects from across the country for $20,000 in funding. Visitors to the company's natural products Web site can cast up to five votes a day.

The Trail Conference supports trail work in Van Cortlandt Park through its East Hudson Community Trails Program. .. Last year, the group won a $57,500 grant from the Booth Ferris Foundation, which they used to hire the New York/ New Jersey Trail Conference to advise them on trail design and restoration.
